The Palazzo delle Stelline is a 17th Century building which was built by Frederick Borromeo. It is now an international convention complex in the centre of Milan but the original structure was a monastery for the Order of Santa Maria della Stella, which later became an orphanage for girls. The oldest parts of the building are the façade and the inner rooms, and the Palazzo delle Stelline still retains many of the monastery’s features including the cloisters and gardens.
