The Palazzo del Vescovado in Orvieto was the former bishop’s palace and is situated close to the Duomo. It was built during the reign of Pope Benedict VII in 977. There has been a great deal of decorative work added over the centuries by the various occupants, which included popes, cardinals, and bishops. At the rear of the building, the façade looks out over the palace kitchen gardens and inside there is a chapel with attractive arches.
