The Palazzo Borromeo is a palace dating to the early 15th Century. It once belonged to one of the most important families of Milan’s nobility. It was very seriously damaged during bombing raids in 1943 during World War Two, but was later fully restored. The basic structure that had survived in part consists of two successive courtyards that retain extensive sections of the original building. With the original 15th Century portal, the façade facing the Piazza Borromeo also retains the ancient brick facing.
