The coastline around Ostuni is said to be one of the most beautiful in Puglia because of its combination of lovely beaches and crystal clear waters. There are some 17 kilometres of coastline here taking in beaches with dunes covered in Mediterranean maquis, sandy inlets and rocky coasts. The beach at Pilone is sandy, with dunes covered in junipers and a little inland encompassing the San Leonardo watch tower. Villanova has a marina with fishing boats and pleasure crafts. Very popular in Ostuni is seabed diving with group dives organised by local diving centres. There’s also slalom windsurfing areas here.
