The Oratorio di San Bernadino is a small but elegant church and was begun in 1461. Sculptor, Agostino di Duccio was responsible for the façade and turned the chapel into a masterpiece of Renaissance art. His reliefs, and angelic musicians are quite stunning. In the first chapel is a 15th Century gonfalon (banner) showing the Madonna sheltering Perugia from the plague, by Benedetto Bonfigli, and the tomb of Braccio Fortebraccio da Montone. There is also a Roman sarcophagus depicting Jonah and the whale.
