The National Museum of San Martino records all aspects of Neapolitan history and society. The nativity crèche section consists of statuettes by the most famous Neapolitan craftsmen; one is the 15th Century nativity of San Giovanni Alamanno with wooden figures, and the other is the Cuciniello nativity, composed of a scenic cave with 180 shepherds and numerous decorations. The museum displays include carriages and a naval section as well as prints, paintings and drawings depicting historical happenings, festivals and other famous events. There is also a theatrical exhibit with mementos of 18th and 19th Century theatre.
