The elaborate 14th Century main door of the Palazzo dei Priori is located in Corso Vannucci and features statues of Perugia’s patron saints, Louis of Toulouse, Lawrence and Ercolanus. Enter here and take the lift to the ‘Galleria Nazionale’ to find the finest collection of Umbrian paintings anywhere in Italy. One of the museum’s star exhibits is the Renaissance, San Domenico Altarpiece of 1437 by Fra Angelico. There are some striking early works here, including wonderful sculptures for a public fountain.
