The Museum of Veterinary Anatomy in Naples was founded in 1861. Here it is possible to see the 19th Century anatomical specimens which are fashioned in wax. These include such things as skeletons and embalmed animals. Also on display are tools and pathological finds. The museum also houses the ‘Diamare’ collection, which includes dehydrated specimens of Mediterranean fauna and others, which are kept in formalin. The museum can be located inside the Veterinary University and is open on request.
