Dedicated to the Madonna of the Rosary, the sanctuary was begun in 1876 and consecrated in 1891. Visitors to the Museum of the ‘Madonna del Rosario’ Pontifical Sanctuary will find chalices, crowns, medals, chasubles, and banners of knightly orders. Also on display are portraits of various popes and patrons, and a Neapolitan Christmas Crib complete with 19th Century shepherd figures. In the corridor of the ex-voto, there are some paintings depicting miraculous recoveries attributed to the Madonna of Pompei – these can be found next to the Chapel of the Confessions.
