The Municipal Archeological Museum has had its home in the Benedictine Monastery since the 1960s. It was established through an merger of the Brera Archeological Museum and the Municipal Art Museum which gathered together finds from the rich numismatic collection of Greek, Italiot and Etruscan finds. It also houses documentation of sculptures, ceramics and mosaics, which illustrates the rich Roman heritage in Milan. It has a fascinating section of materials from excavations in Palestine, and a complete section showing finds from the Necropolis of Lovere.
