The church of San Vito Martire in Ostuni is situated along Via Cattedrale and is part of the Monacelle Convent Complex. The church was built in the 18th Century in a Baroque style on the site of a former medieval religious building, which belonged to the Carmelitane nuns’ convent. The convent complex now houses the museum of pre-classic civilisations of southern Murgia, established in 1989. There is a specialised library here as well as workshops and a permanent exhibition in the adjacent San Vito church.
