Amongst the most important religious monuments in Mascalucia is the Chiesa di S. Antonio Abate, which was built in the 14th Century. The Chiesa di S. Vito has a wonderful painting by Gaetano Rapisardi dating to the 19th Century. Of particular interest is the Palazzo Cirelli – a fine example of Liberty style, and the so-called ‘Torre del Grifo’, or Tower of the Snout, dating from the Middle Ages period. There are some fine secular buildings worthy of note including the Palazzo Rapisardi, which was built in the 1700s.
