The name St.Maria del Pianto o del Torresino came from an image worshipped in the church that had earlier stood on one of the towers of the old town walls. Girolamo Frigimelica designed it in 1718 and it is one of the main Baroque monuments of Padova. Inside is in the shape of a circle with three apses and two panels and 8 pillars holding the cupola that features a number of works from the 18th Century and the high altar which is by Carlo Scarpa.
