The Madonna Pellegrina Sanctuary for the Virgin was created at the wish of Bishop Agostini who had vowed to build it in 1943 if Padova was spared any bombing. The church was consecrated on December 10th 1954 after the ‘great transfer’ with the statue of the Pilgrim Mother parading through the town and the diocese. The interior of the church has a 16th Century wooden Jesus, a statue of a seated Virgin with the infant Jesus from 1400 and another wooden Jesus from the 17th Century.
