Lupanare

There have been numerous brothels discovered in the city of Pompei during excavation work. Lining the interior walls of the Lupanare there are erotic frescoes which are still quite well preserved. These wall paintings gave archaeologists clues to the use of the building and so did the layout of the rooms. The building has a long rectangular entrance hallway and along this are a number of small cubicles. These tiny rooms measure around 5 feet wide.
