Fontana del Gigante
Via Partenope-Banchina di Santa Lucia, Naples 80132 - Italy

Map
The large, ornate Fontana del Gigante (Giant) is also called Immacolatella because of its proximity to the Immacolatella building. Dating from the 16th Century it was the creation of Pietro Bernini e Michelangelo Naccherino. Crafted completely from marble the fountain has a low base on which three round arches rest. Under the arches are statues of the river deities, while on the sides are sculptures of two caryatids and two marine animals supporting the basin. Its original home was Piazza del Plebiscito before moving to the port in 1815, and in 1905 to Santa Lucia quay.
