The Eremitani Church origins date back to the year 1276 according to a plaque, which can be found inside, while the Saint Agostino Eremitani order was founded in 1256. The front of the church features five pilasters with a rose window at the center, which, together with four lateral round windows forms a motif of chiaroscuro. In the interior is a very special ceiling designed by Frà Giovanni degli Eremitani, a renowned town planner, and constructor of bridges, streets and fortresses. Also inside along the walls are tombs of the notables of Padova and some of the Carra family.
