The Duomo in Oristano is believed to date back to the 14th Century. It has a detached octagonal, onion-roofed bell tower which was added in 1712 along with the seminary next door. The interior is very spacious and quite elaborate, with three very ornate chapels either side of the nave. The first chapel on the right has a painted wooden statue of the Annunciation of the Madonna attributed to Nino Pisano. A majolica and gilt altar surrounds the statue and an anonymous Catalan carved in the two marble panels at the front, dated between the 14th and 15th Century.
