The Church of Santa Maria la Nova was constructed in 1297 but was completely rebuilt at the start of the 16th Century. Inside you can marvel at the 46 works of art that adorn the ceiling, all by different artists. The nave has pillars with small altars belonging to different families. In the Chapel of San Giacomo della Marca there are frescoes by Massimo Stanzione and the tombs of Odetto di Foix and of Pietro Navarro, the two captains sent by Francesco I to recapture Naples in 1528.
