Church of Santa Caterina
Piazza S. Caterina, Pisa - Italy

Map
The church of Santa Caterina has a façade of marble, fashioned in the style of the Pisa school. It has two Gothic loggias and an attractive rose portal which dates from 1325. The terracotta campanile is adorned with ceramic ornaments. Inside is some wonderful 16th Century artwork by Father Bartolomeo and a 15th Century marble reredos thought to be the work of Donatello’s followers. There are statues by Nino Pisano of 1360, Gherardo Compani’s grave of the end of the 14th Century and a sepulchre of bishop Simone Saltarelli, made by Pisano (1342)
