The Church of San Sisto, built in a Pisane-Romanesque style, was consecrated in 1133. The exterior is divided by pilaster strips into three orders. There is a mullioned window and arches in the upper part and copies of the typical local decoration of Islamic ceramic basins popular in the 10th to 11th Century (the originals are in held in the city’s Museum of St. Matthew). Inside the church is a single nave and two aisles divided by columns with Roman capitals. There is an Arabic tombstone and a fine copy of a 14th Century Madonna with Child.
