The Church of San Giovanni is one of the oldest in Norcia and was built in the 15th Century. It was restored in the 18th Century and has a finely decorated and carved altar from 1469. The church has a bell tower built into the walls and is one of the most important churches in Norcia with good examples of artwork. The altar houses the miraculous image of the ‘Madonna della Palla’, by Giovanni Duknovic, known as Il Dalmata.
