The Church of Pieve di Ledro was rebuilt in Renaissance style in the mid 17th Century. It is wonderfully decorated with Roman stucco works and has a Roman bell-tower. The church was looted in 1703 when the French army invaded during the Spanish War of Succession and in WWI the interior was again destroyed. Three paintings remain, all of them fine works by the Venetian School. The lovely 18th Century wooden painted choir loggia has also survived. Further restoration began in 1931 which returned the church to its former beauty.
