The Church of Monteoliveto is also known as Sant’Anna dei Lombardi and was built in the 15th Century. The exterior has a façade in piperno and in the atrium is the tomb of Domenico Fontana - the architect who built the church. Inside the church there are three magnificent Renaissance chapels designed in Tuscan style which are a link between the Aragonese and Medici courts. Further evidence of this is the Piccolomini Chapel, just to the left of the atrium emulating the Florentine church of San Miniato al Monte.
