The Chiesa San Pietro Mandurino origins are extremely ancient, as is shown by a plaque on the apse of the altar. For years it had been in a state of disrepair, but was finally restored in 1724. The building was probably created as a chamber-tomb in Hellenistic times before being converted into a church. The church, which is dug into the rock, was built in the 8th and 9th centuries AD and has a crypt, while inside it has two naves with two apses divided by a row of three pillars.
