The Cattedrale di Santa Maria Annunciata church is similar in style to a Basilican layout. There is still some 12th Century architecture here noticeable in sculptures and the centre arcades with crescent shaped double ring profiles ending in marble columns finely carved in Corinthian style. The crypt is worthy of note with a hall divided into 45 square bays supported by columns of reused ancient, Byzantine, early-medieval and modern capitals. One part is decorated with witty displays of animals and human busts.
