Casa del Manzoni is next door to the imposing Palazzo Belgiojoso and looks out onto Piazza Belgiojoso. It is the house that Alessandro Manzoni lived in from 1814 until he died in 1873. The building is very characteristic of the Renaissance style, with a central courtyard and side porticos. Perhaps its most important feature is the facade which faces the piazza and has graffito plasterwork and rich decoration in terra cotta created in 1864 by Andrea Boni in traditional Lombardian Renaissance style.
