The Studio Barelli-Colonnese designed the Ca’ Brüta in 1919-1923, where the young Muzio worked. Its strange name is due to the somewhat puzzled reactions that the building stirred after its completion. It is in a very different style compared to the architecture of the day. The design has an abstract and geometric style of decoration with the architecture and decoration treated as a two dimensional feature. Today it is considered a masterpiece of early 20th Century Italian architecture, despite the criticism at the time.
