The Brenta Canal was constructed as a short route between Venice and the Adriatic and quickly became popular as an escape to the Brenta Riviera. There are magnificent villas lining the canal and some can be visited travelling on conducted trips on the canal from Padova. II Burchiello cruises depart from Padova and Venice two or three times a week and give the opportunity to visit a few of the villas. This is a memorable trip and popular with tourists to the area.
