The Basilica di Santa Guista is one of the earliest collections of Tuscan style buildings erected between the 11th and 14th Centuries in Sardinia. This particular church was built around 1135 and was elevated to cathedral status in the 16th Century. It is very prominently sited at the top of a set of steps behind a public garden in the middle of the town. Inside it has a wooden beamed ceiling covering the nave which is illuminated by slit windows cut into the walls and apse.
