The Auditorium of Milan is the new home of the Giuseppe Verdi Symphony Orchestra of Milan. It was created from the restoration of the Teatro Massimo Cinema, which dated back to 1939. The original building had been left empty for a number of years after the end of WWII. It reopened in 1999 as the venue for Milan’s symphony orchestra which was directed by maestro Riccardo Chailly. This huge complex has seating for 1,400 with excellent acoustics and state of the art technology.
