The Sedile

The Sedile is a strange looking building that overlooks the Roman amphitheatre. It was constructed in about 1592 as a meeting room and for hearings for the citizens of the town. The Sedile was the home of the Town Hall until 1851; it has a Gothic like portal with crests and trophies of the city. and upstairs the wide Renaissance portico. It has wide windows made to guarantee the greatest transparency of every meeting for the public.
