The enormous Palazzo Pennone in Lugnano in Teverina was erected during the 1500s. The palace, built at the request of wealthy cardinals, now houses the town hall and a small antiquarium. This museum, on the first floor, has some fresco fragments and mosaics from a Roman villa at Poggio Gramignano dating from 1st Century BC. A poignant exhibit relates to finds from excavations in 1988 when an infant cemetery was discovered in a series of amphorae.
