Three centuries after the death of Count II Borromeo, Count Carlo built the Palazzo Borromeo in a Baroque style. The Palazzo is of great beauty inside and out, lavished with chandeliers of Murano glass. Visit the arms room displaying the Borromeo coats of arms, and medal room with carved wooden medallions depicting the life of San Carlo Borromeo. There is also a music room, Napoleon’s room, the great hall, the library and the Luca Giordano room all rich in their splendour. See also the Antechamber, the family chapel, tapestry and, not to be missed, the grottoes.
