Orta San Giulio is the inland town of the Isola San Giulio and walking to the top of the town gives breathtaking views out over the lake and island. At night the view from here is magical when the island and the church of Madonna del Sasso are all lit up. There is an attractive main square and the popular quay area is shaded by trees. This area is dominated by a 16th Century building which is the town hall, with frescoed walls and an outside staircase.
