The commune of Laglio on Lake Como is divided into the centres of Laglio and Torriggia. Behind Laglio is a wooded area up along the slopes of Monte Colmegnone. Here is the Buco dell’Orso (bear hole), a large cave that is passable for about 150 mts. Bones of the cave bear were discovered here in the 18th Century. The village cemetery contains an unusual 18th Century sepulchral monument of a German doctor - a twenty-metre-high pyramid. The 16th Century Church of S. Giorgio has stuccowork by Stefano Salterio of Como and 17th Century paintings and sculptures.
