The Isola Pescatori on Lake Maggiore is not as large as the Isola Bella and is also known as Isola Superiori. The name of the island comes from its chief trade of fishing, which is still very much in evidence today. It is a real pleasure to wander the narrow winding streets, so close together the streets get hardly any sunlight. The island has long been favoured by writers and artists alike and has an exquisite little 11th Century church.
