The Church of Saint Claire was commissioned in 1429 by Bishop Tommaso Ammirato of Lecce and was completed in 1438, then refurbished in 1687. The construction of the church is attributed to Larducci or Giuseppe Cino and was never completely finished. The interior retains its 18th Century organ, 17th Century altars and many works of art, like the painting by Francesco Solimena of Saint Agnes. The façade is divided into four portions by Corinthian responds, with a wonderful main portal which displays the coat of arms of the Seraphic Order on top, edged by empty niches on the side.
