The Chiesa di San Giovanni in Lecce can be located just past the crossroads with Via G. Libertini. This church was built between 1691 and 1728. The façade has some unusual decoration which includes winged horses. The interior boasts a pulpit which has made use of the local stone – the only church in Lecce to have done so. Next to the church is the 18th Century Accademio delle Belle Arti, which was once a monastery.
