The Celestine Convent was built about 1549 before becoming a Government building and today it houses both the Province and the Prefecture. The style of Gabriele Riccardi is easily recognised from the jagged tip on the corners of gables and windows, but the 16th Century has since been modified. Between 1659 and 1695 the façade and two orders of windows surrounded by frames full of decorations were made by Francesco Antonio Zimalo and added to the building.
