Cattedrale dell’Assunta
Via Duomo, Lucera, Foggia 71036 - Italy

Map

The Cattedrale dell’Assunta church is a compact building which has the look of a fortress. A statuette of Saint Michael Archangel between two angels dominates the central portal of the façade and the Virgin with Child can be seen in the tympanum within an oval shrine. The cathedral houses many works of art such as ‘The Last Supper’ believed to be by Jacopo Palma the Younger and the frescoes around the walls display the apostles and saints created by Belisario Corenzio. There is also a marvellous 16th Century fresco created by Fabrizio Santafede.
