The Dei Mari built the Villa Gruber già De Mari in the 16th Century. This country residence stands in a hilly area of a large public park. The Gruber family modified the villa sometime in the 19th Century. The Villa today is home to an Americana museum, collecting many archaeological items from pre-Colombian civilisations, specialising in the Maya people. The Villa is also home to the local police force, sited in the most modern wing as well as in the 16th Century watchtower behind.
