Villa Fiordaliso sits close to the lakefront and is set in a beautiful park. This was once owned by Otto Vèzin, an American of German origin. Commandeered between 1915 and 1918, the villa was later acquired by Emilio and Paola Botturi-Polenghi in 1928, who restructured it and decorated it with frescoes in a 16th Century Tuscan style. In the autumn of 1943 Claretta Petacci, the lover of Mussolini, stayed here in the second floor Red Room.
