The church of Santo Spirito can be found in one of the liveliest piazzas in Oltrarno Florence. The scrolled plaster facade is from the 18th Century, but is only the last phase of the building. One of the greatest creators of the Renaissance in Florence, Filippo Brunelleschi started construction in the middle of the 15th Century. Of the many works of art in the interior is the decoration of the Corbinelli Chapel created in 1492 by Andrea Sansovino. On the altar is the wooden cross of the crucifix that has been attributed to Michelangelo.
