Santa Cristina complex
Near Ghilarza, Sardinia - Italy

Map
The complex is a wide-ranging site spread among a shady grove of olive trees and is well worth a visit. Here you will find a sacred well and other nuraghic buildings with some of them dating back to 1800 BC. It has a 15m high tower with an egg shaped tholos type interior in which niches and alcoves have been hewn away. From the top of the tower there is a magnificent view out over the ruins. It has a capanna lunga, which is a long stone-built open-topped structure of unknown use. This complex is a fascinating place full of history.
