The lovely church of San Salvatore can be located in Piazza Garibaldi. At first this was a Benedictine building. It has a 14th Century façade and three entrances. The wonderful interior was the work of Luigi Vanvitelli between 1748 and 1757. There are several 14th and 16th Century frescoes which still remain as well as a triptych by artist, Bartolomeo di Tommaso which depicts the Virgin with Child and Saints. Also here are some 16th Century Flemish tapestries.
