This little hamlet is just north of Santu Lussurgiu on a minor road towards Macomer. Most weekends you will find people picnicking in this lovely place with a Spanish sounding name due to its highly prized mineral waters which attract many connoisseurs. The crumbly old church is the burial place of Guelfo, the son of Count Ugolino della Gherardesca, who died in the late 1200s. San Leonardo is also the scene of an important horse fair that is held on the 2nd of June every year.
