The San Giovanni church was built in the 13th Century on the site of a former ancient baptistery. The building’s façade and the bell tower of the church were designed in the Romanesque style. The bell tower is considered to be one of the most beautiful structures in the city. The interior has a single nave with the roof being supported by huge cross-sectional arches, and the beautiful columns are decorated with carved floral motifs.
