The church of San Filippo Neri is part of a complex called San Firenze. Work began here in the middle of the 17th Century after a commission by Filippini, who received the old church of San Fiorenzo as a gift from pope Urban VIII. The church was conceived by Pietro a Cortona and built by the architect Pier Francesco Silvani. It has decorations and furniture from the 17th and 18th Century with a façade that was built in 1715 by Ferdinando Ruggieri in the style of Buontalenti. These are some of the finest examples of Florentine art of the period.
