The church of Saint Mary of the Angels was constructed in a garden, owned by Bindaccio Bernardo Peruzzi’s widow, Giovannella. On her husband’s death she donated the building to the Order of the Vincentians thus ensuring she could place hers and her husband’s mortal remains within the church. Extensions within the city resulted in the demolition of some of the buildings and dismantling of the garden. The front facade displays a magnificent majolica panel, with the image of the Virgin called Saint Mary of the Angels imprinted on it.
